AI S – 1500

AI S-1500 is the sodium salt of the hydroxymethane sulphinic acid (Sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate). Provides a vintage / aging look to fabrics and garments.

CHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION

Empirical formula: CH3NaO3S · 2 H2O.
Nomenclature: Sodium hydroxymethane sulphinate dihydrate.
CAS-Number: 149-44-0.
Formula weight: 154,1 g/mol.

ASSAY: 98% min.
PH of 10% Solution: 9.8-10.5.

PROPERTIES

Appearance: Liquid crystalline substance.
Melting point: app. 65°C.
Solubility in water: 680 g/l 20°C.
Alkaline resistance: good.
Acid resistance: Decomposition.

Delivery form: Liquid.

APPLICATION

AI S-1500 is primarily used as a redox catalyst in emulsion polymerization, where uniformity, purity, and special quality control assures consistency, high yields, and good quality of the polymer produced.

AI S-1500 is a very efficient oxygen scavenger, and is used as such in metal recovery and polymeric applications.

AI S-1500 is a reductive bleach, alone or in combination with a chelating agent.

AI S-1500 is used in the textile industry for discharge printing.AI S-1500 is used as stabilizer and/or antioxidant, in industrial and pharmaceutical formulations.

PACKING AND STORAGE

AI S-1500 is supplied in 200 Kg. drum containers. It has a shelf life of one year when stored in its original packing at normal ambient temperatures.
